1. I have a Ravelry account now! Because I have been doing more or less nothing but knitting since December.

2. And I am going to have to be careful with it, because wow do I get frustrated with learned helplessness. Calculating numbers of stitches is not a huge mystery, people, it's basic math you should have known how to do in grade 4! This is not hard!

Oooh, yeah. I tend to stay off the forums unless there isn’t something VERY specific I am trying to get info on. I am the sort of knitter that will often just cast on and make shit up on the fly for some projects, or will reverse engineer construction method for a knit object with no available pattern from the two photographs I can find, I am not long on patience for people who are unwilling to math out anything for themselves.

Like, okay, I get that some people don’t find the number crunching fun (although I don’t really grok it) and want their hobby to be relaxing but in that case.... don’t modify patterns? I mean I do have sympathy for the dyscalculic, as i have a form of it myself, and I know it must be frustrating, but I also definitely do not want to wade through lots of people asking for basic math help. So, yeah, I just mostly steer clear... >_>;
