I have enjoyed reading other people's, so here we are.
1. Are you an Essential Worker?
No.
2. How many drinks have you had since the quarantine started?
None, actually. My options are leaving the house or questionable bottles in the liquor cabinet which are probably older than me, and it really hasn't seemed worth the trip.
No, wait, there were a couple ciders in the fridge when this started, and now there aren't. So two.
3. If you have kids... Are they driving you nuts?
No kids.
4. What new hobby have you taken up during this?
Starting new knitting projects and then almost immediately ripping them out. This is not a fun hobby.
(It's not actually a new hobby, either; it's come up before when I have high anxiety levels, and I'm trying not to castigate myself for it.)
5. How many grocery runs have you done?
None so far, but probably I will tomorrow. My mother has been shopping once a week, but last week we both had whatever-it-was so our neighbour went shopping for us, and this week she's still tired.
(The whatever-it-was doesn't really seem like COVID-19? I had it really badly, and mostly I had vertigo and nausea - there was fever and fatigue, but those are very nonspecific symptoms and I had no respiratory problems whatsoever. Mom has no fever but some respiratory issues. If it is COVID-19, funnily enough the one of us with the most classic symptom presentation is Jean Claude - sniffles, lethargy, and apparently loss of his sense of smell. I'm worried about him but he doesn't seem to be in pain.
If anyone's concerned, I stayed inside for two weeks straight while I had symptoms.)
6. What are you spending your stimulus check on?
I don't have a stimulus cheque, I have the CERB, or will in a few days. (It was staggeringly easy to apply for.) I will get a new laptop, which I was planning to do anyway and really need to do if I'm taking online classes this summer.
7. Do you have any special occasions that you will miss during this quarantine?
I was going to see
consultingpiskies this month.
Yeah.
8. Are you keeping your housework done? Ish?
I need to get mom to let me do the laundry so I feel less like a freeloader. But the spaces I occupy are clean and the cat is getting fed, as if he would let me forget that.
I should mention that mom is retired, so the only change in routines here is that I am doing classes from home and not going to work, which was already on an irregular schedule.
9. What movie have you watched during this quarantine?
Actually none whatsoever. I am trying to embrace the idea that I Just Can't Do video as a format, and That's Okay.
10. What are you streaming with?
See above.
I have gotten an Agatha Christie audiobook on Libby, and that's working reasonably well. And of course podcasts.
11. 9 months from now is there any chance of you having a baby?
1. No.
2. Not while abortion is still available.
12. What's your go-to quarantine meal?
Normally I get into comfortable ruts of just eating one thing, so it wouldn't have changed, except that raisin bread is inexplicably unavailable at the local grocery store, so I have switched to cheese on toast.
13. Is this whole situation making you paranoid?
As mentioned before, the anxiety is almost entirely sublimated and I feel absolutely fine, I just can't focus on anything and occasionally my digestive system decides that it hates me.
14. Has your internet gone out on you during this time?
Not exactly, but as mentioned above it has become very clear that I need a new laptop.
15. What month do you predict this all ends?
The lack of any clear ending point is in fact part of the problem here.
16. First thing you’re gonna do when you get off quarantine?
GO TO THE LIBRARY.
17. Where do you wish you were right now?
Where
consultingpiskies is.
18. What free-from-quarantine activity are you missing the most?
Did I mention LIBRARIES.
19. Have you run out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
We have no hand sanitizer as usual, lots of soap, and we don't seem to be going through toilet paper any faster than before.
20. Do you have enough food to last a month?
I don't think so? But I don't do much of the cooking. There definitely isn't enough wet cat food for a month.
