violsva: A cartoon of a grey cat happily scribbling in a book (writing cat)
[personal profile] violsva
Hi! Thanks so much for writing for me, and congratulations on your evident good taste!

If you want to benignly internet-stalk me to get an idea of my interests, Tumblr and AO3 are probably a better idea than DW. Though I have been book blogging recently.

This year I requested Band Sinister by K. J. Charles, Dimension 20: A Court of Fey and Flowers, The Great God Pan by Arthur Machen, the Roaring Twenties Magic series by Allie Therin, The Immortals Quartet by Tamora Pierce, and "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. I am happy with any fic rating or length, and welcome extra treats.

A large and random list of things I like in general: worldbuilding, hurt/comfort, huddling for warmth, teamwork, competence, adventure, lesbians, ethical dilemmas, loyalty conflicts, people being clever, twisty plots, gender issues, sibling or sibling-like relationships, epistolary fic, backstory, pining, physical affection, queerness, philosophy, romance, UST, found families, mythological and literary allusions, polyamory, slash, het, femslash, passionate platonic friendships, hidden worlds, cities, banter, complicated plans, beautiful landscapes, angst, puns, magical realism, history, social class issues, older women with major roles, case fic, period accuracy, gen, smut, pwp, diversity of opinion, secret identities, fairy tales, specific sense of place... Feel free to use any of these, don't try to use all of them.

DNW: Child- or pregnancy-focused fic, high school AUs, fic entirely centred around a wedding or wedding preparation, incest, or graphic depictions of rape or gore or torture. See a couple of the specific fandom notes for exceptions.

Fandom specific thoughts and optional details:

Band Sinister - K. J. Charles

I am really feeling canon divergence AUs for this, so here are some suggestions for those:
- What if the Murder had been in London during Amanda's disastrous Season, and they met the Frisbys then?
- What if Amanda had taken matters into her own hands near the end of the book and decided to become Philip's "mistress" to get both herself and Guy away from their aunt?
- What if Corvin had seduced Guy first, either during or before canon? When Philip falls in love with Guy in canon, how does that history affect Philip's relationships with both of them?
- What if Guy had had the chance to make more scholarly friends and met the Murder through one of the scientist members, either in London or some other time before canon?

Alternatively, I would like to see some of the likely results of canon events: for example, Guy facing up to the fact that he can't always stop people from gossiping and sometimes that's okay. Early sexy experiments between Guy/Philip/John/Corvin (whether they end well or not). Guy and Amanda in the less-respectable parts of London society, both the parts they would enjoy, like literary circles, and the parts they probably wouldn't, like gambling dens.

Dimension 20 (Web Series)

I love Andhera and Binx's whole thing, everything about how they relate to each other. I want to see more of them, Andhera meeting Binx's court/allies, Andhera declaring loyalty to Binx expressly in opposition to his position as Prince of the Unseelie Court, Andhera helping with warlock patron duties, Binx crafting things.

Roaring Twenties Magic - Allie Therin

I have read everything set in this universe, so use as much of it as you want and toss in any other characters you like.

Jade Robbins/Jianwei Zhang

I love Jade and Zhang so much and I wish there was a whole series about them. Anything would make me happy; here are some suggestions.

- Their first meeting, ideally with one or both of them immediately deciding "Yes, this one."
- Zhang studying something that Jade is surprisingly able to help with.
- Jade solving a problem that someone in Zhang's family is having.
- Zhang, shortly after meeting Jade, solving a problem that one of her friends or family are having.
- Teamwork with magic and other skills to solve a mystery or perform an otherwise-impossible task.

Wesley Collins/Sebastian de Leon

Honestly just more of these two doing anything. I wish I had more specific prompts but I really will be happy with anything, smut included but not necessary.

Tortall - Tamora Pierce

I love Onua and I want to see more of her than we got. Backstory, maybe, or more with Onua as a sister figure to Daine or Numair or both, scenes between Wild Magic and Wolf Speaker, Onua interacting with or trying to avoid the politics of the rest of Jonathan's court, working with wild magic (either before she knew she had it or after), coming across Immortals on her own, anything.

Finally, my two vaguely femslashy horror fandoms (with the DNW exceptions):

The Great God Pan - Arthur Machen
Available for free here.

DNW notes: Helen/Pan is fine and I won't consider it incest. Last DNW does not apply to this fandom - please feel free to get as dark and dubiously consensual as you want. Also I'm opting in to teenage sexual activity.

Twist these two up in all the horrific parts of Greek mythology. I want to know what drives Helen and what she sees and whether the entire inside of her head looks like forests and orgies and sparagmos. I want to know how she grew up and how she left and how little she cares about the society that would expect her to stay in one role. Tell me about being a force of nature, and also being human, and how much of each she is.

And let her fuck Rachel up as much as you want. It can be genuinely horrible or just opposed to Victorian sexual morality, and I would love to see Rachel fighting against a wild mix of the two and trying to figure out what morality means for herself with basically no helpful guidance.

Art Prompts: Ivy leaves and grape vines, amorphous forms that might be male or female or plants or animals, looming foreboding presences, green trees and grey statues, wine, tousled Victorian underclothes, Rachel weeping on her bed, orgies.

The Yellow Wallpaper - Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Available for free here.

DNW notes: Last DNW does not apply to this fandom - please feel free to get as dark and dubiously consensual as you want.

I'd love to see a lesbian exploration of the Narrator's relationship with the woman in the wallpaper, even/especially if that woman is herself. The tension between the wallpaper as a symbol of captivity and other women's (imaginary) company as a comfort. Captivity in reality therefore escape into the mind, and captivity in the mind preventing escape in reality. The woman in the wallpaper as a reflection and as a warning and as a companion. All of this works with plural women in the wallpaper too.

Art Prompts: The wallpaper, women behind it, women pulling/being pulled into it, gold and Art Nouveau/Art Deco lines and bare scraped patches. Repeated motifs getting more and more sinister.
