Dear Femslash Ex Writer:
Aug. 14th, 2017 12:24 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Hi! Thanks so much for writing for me, and congratulations on your evident good taste!
If you want to benignly internet-stalk me to get an idea of my interests, Tumblr and AO3 (both linked in the sidebar) are probably a better idea than DW.
I am really feeling like angst and pining right now. That's not all I like - if you want to write fluff go right ahead and I will probably love it, but if you're wondering whether I'll be okay with unrequited love or bittersweet memories after a partner's death or hurt/comfort, the answer is absolutely yes. I am also happy with absolutely any fic rating or length. Smut, with or without plot, is good for any pairing but not required.
A large and random list of things I like in general: worldbuilding, adventure, alternate universes, ethical dilemmas, people being clever, twisty plots, gender, sibling or sibling-like relationships, epistolary fic, backstory, hurt/comfort, pining, dragons, physical affection, queerness, philosophy, romance, feminism, UST, found families, mythological allusions, polyamory, hidden worlds, cities, banter, complicated plans, beautiful landscapes, angst, puns, magical realism, history, happy endings, ambiguous endings, class differentials, creepy supernatural beings, older women with major roles, passionate platonic friendships, case fic, period accuracy, smut, pwp, diversity, secret identities, fairy tales... Feel free to use any of these.
Dislikes: I do not want child-focused fic. I have a major embarrassment squick, I don't like incest, and I'm not interested in graphic depictions of rape or gore or torture. However, I can be sold on most consensual kinks.
Fandom specific thoughts and optional details, to be taken more as suggestions and jumping-off points than requests:
The Comfortable Courtesan - Madame C- C- (Available online here.)
The Contessa/OFC
Madame C-/Mrs F-
The Contessa/OFC: spy shenanigans of her youth, possibly with a lady who Clorinda will later remind her of. Or the Contessa knowing that no matter what she does for the Cause, she can come home at night to her female lover. Who may be her lifelong companion (lady's maid?), come to that.
Clorinda/Eliza: Anything you want for this ship, really. With or without Josiah.
The only thing I specifically don't want is Clorinda nursing Eliza through her last illness.
Possible prompt: Eliza helping with or inspiring Clorinda's fiction.
Lord Peter Wimsey - Dorothy L. Sayers
Sylvia Marriott/Eiluned Price
Sylvia and Eiluned being sarcastic in the 20s and 30s modernist art scene. I love them and how they interact with Peter and the little we see of them with Harriet. Relationship negotiations, investigating their own mystery, being deeply contemptful of a new movement or artist.
DC Cinematic Universe
Etta Candy/Diana (Movies)
I'd strongly prefer post-War fic. And I liked what the movie did with Steve, but if it's recent enough that Diana's still very upset about him she should also still be upset over Antiope and leaving Themyscira.
Etta settling in and making sure Diana has everything she needs to live in the 20th century. Diana valuing Etta's strange foreign skills, like filing and scheduling. Etta kind of falling into the position of Diana's personal secretary, and not sure how to balance that with her feelings. I would love to see Diana's POV admiring Etta.
Original Work
Detective/Detective
Pirate/Naval Officer Disguised as a Man
Pirate/Diplomat
Regency Lady/Crossdressing Regency Lady
Healer/Knight
Revolutionary/Pamphlet Writer
Most of what I am requesting this year is historical, and I'd prefer a historical or fantasy setting for all of these too.
Detective/Detective: Victorian? 1930s? Rivals needing to work together (and finding out they work really well together) or existing partnership? I'd prefer casefic, or a mystery going on in the background while they're falling in love. Or, hey, existing relationship solving a case together and admiring each other's skills.
Pirate ships (sorry): Bury me in romance cliches. (Romance novel levels of dubcon is totally okay here.) But I would like the Diplomat, or the Naval Officer, to be very competent in her field, even if now she's ended up a prisoner.
Regency Lady/Crossdressing Regency Lady: Again, all the romance cliches are good. I love identity porn, so she could meet her in both her costumes (maybe at night). I also would love if Lady A honestly has no idea why this strange gentleman is so different from her other suitors for ages. It can be full-time crossdressing (all the way to living as a man, if you want to play with gender), or just-for-this-one-occasion, or intended to be just for one occasion and then circumstances force it to go on longer.
Healer/Knight: Possible prompts: A healing magic gone slightly wrong creates a deeply inconvenient soulbond. Or, a knight keeps ending up at the same healer who is very sarcastic about how often she gets damaged. If you want to go in Witch/Knight directions that is great too.
Revolutionary/Pamphlet Writer: OMG, idealism and printing presses and pseudonyms and long debates in coffee shops. Another good place for identity porn.
Cinderella (Fairy Tale)
Cinderella's Mother/Fairy Godmother
Cinderella/Original Female Character
Okay, two very different pairings.
Cinderella's Mother/Fairy Godmother: Pining, all the pining - either during the mother's life or after her death. One of them having perfectly logical reasons for the marriage that they still don't want to go through with. If the fairy godmother actually is a fairy, how does that affect how the mother feels about her, or her perceptions of a future with her?
Cinderella/OFC: Whereas if you want to write fluff, here you are. Either straightforward fairy tale retelling with a princess instead of a prince, or a Cinderella who thinks she's in love with the prince and then finds someone else at the balls, or Cinderella going to all the balls and coming home and telling a friend all about them, and then deciding to sneak the friend in too, and then they have their own romantic moment.
("And the prince-!" "Oh, the prince?" "Yes, the prince!" "Well ... he's tall.")
Disney - All Media Types
Fa Mulan (Mulan)/Jasmine (Aladdin)
AU, or perhaps with much older characters after Jasmine's widowed (um, sorry) - Mulan shows up in Agrabah (as a diplomat's guard?) and is immediately taken with the princess/queen. Or Mulan showing up out of the blue because she's scouting or patrolling and area and defending a party of travellers including Jasmine from bandits.
