Hahahaha! And there is my experience of traveling in Canada, summarized in a single sentence! So many gently but deeply concerned people, horrifically embarrassed to be bringing it up at all, but not quite able to pass it by. Because surely if we just knew, we would fix it?
(Quite a lot of us know, actually. But the rest of us would spit in your eye -- or perhaps escalate to fists -- for suggesting we're anything but the most magnificent and advanced nation on the face of the Earth.)
