violsva: full bookshelf with ladder (Default)
[personal profile] violsva
Hi! Thanks so much for writing for me, and congratulations on your evident good taste!

I am requesting fic for Agent Carter and Original Works, and fic or art for Alternate Universe Works and The Old Guard (2020). You may ignore my fic/art and trick/treat preferences for extra gifts.

A large and random list of things I like in general: worldbuilding, hurt/comfort, huddling for warmth, teamwork, adventure, ethical dilemmas, loyalty conflicts, people being clever, twisty plots, gender, sibling or sibling-like relationships, backstory, pining, physical affection, queerness, philosophy, romance, feminism, UST, found families, mythological allusions, polyamory, slash, het, femslash, hidden worlds, cities, banter, complicated plans, beautiful landscapes, angst, puns, magical realism, history, social class issues, passionate platonic friendships, older women with major roles, case fic, period accuracy, gen, smut, pwp, diversity, secret identities, historical clothes, fairy tales, specific sense of place... Feel free to use any of these.

I am happy with absolutely any fic rating or length. I don't mind seasonal works, I like fall, but it's not a requirement. For Tricks, I prefer angst and the supernatural rather than actively-trying-to-freak/gross-you-out horror.

Dislikes: I do not want child- or pregnancy-focused fic, or fic focused on high school. I have a major embarrassment squick, I don't like incest, and I'm not interested in graphic depictions of rape or gore or torture (note a couple specific fandom exceptions to this last below).

Agent Carter
Characters:
Dottie Underwood

I would like to see Dottie interacting with absolutely any of the other characters in the tagset--especially Peggy, but I do mean any. I see Dottie as being really primarily focused on women, and seeing men as easily manipulable and therefore always at least slightly boring. To her, I mean, not to me.

As a start: Dottie and Whitney's interactions fascinated me--Dottie has just finished explaining how she can't be tortured, and here is someone who absolutely can and does have power over her, and I would also love to throw Peggy in between them and see what happens. Or Dottie and Angie, and their differing relationships with Peggy and Peggy's work and the other women in the boarding house. Dottie and Rose, who is an SSR agent but very different from the glamourous-spy-Peggy persona Dottie plays with. Dottie being surprised by any male character (even ones not in the tagset--Bucky?) not behaving as she expected. Dottie being completely unsurprised by a man who thinks he's pulling one over on her. Dottie and Jarvis, or both Jarvises, having to work together again, with different results.

In this fandom, feel free to go anywhere you want on the scale between noncon and torture and just a simmering undercurrent of Dottie being Dottie during what would otherwise look like fluff.

Alternate Universe Works
Characters:
Kate Bishop replaces Clint Barton (AU-MCU)
With Kate, I interpret the prompt as meaning she's there instead of Clint for the *whole* MCU, Thor/Avengers on. I'm more interested in MCU Phase 1 and 2 in general, and how Kate would interact with that, with the trauma Hawkeye goes through in Avengers, with the other characters (Natasha! Maria Hill! Wanda!), how the events do or don't change with her there. Possibly also her backstory--like, for example, is Clint around but retired and doing mentoring things/freelancing in the background? Is Clint not there at all and Kate was the one to recruit Natasha here? Did RichKid!Kate already know Tony socially? You can make her comics-aged or full-grown, I don't mind either way.

Art: Her recruiting Natasha, her on a mission with Natasha, her being mind-controlled by Loki, or straightforward screen redraws are all good. Clint's MCU uniform or one of Kate's comics uniforms are all great, and I would love to see how the latter fits with the more serious style of the MCU and especially SHIELD.

Winter Soldier Peggy Carter (AU-MCU)
Winter!Peg! There is never enough Winter!Peggy and I want all of it. I don't mind if it's a mission as the Winter Soldier, or her fighting Steve, or her running from Steve after CA:TWS, or her recovery, or her interacting with the modern world, or an Agent Carter future where she's going up against people she knew in the SSR, or working with Dottie, or maybe losing to Dottie was how she ended up the Winter Soldier in the first place (and what does Dottie think of that? See Agent Carter notes.). I don't have preferences for whether Bucky is around or not. I just want Peggy Carter as the or a Winter Soldier, because awesome.

In art I definitely want the metal arm. In fic it is recommended but not required. Some of the above I think works as art prompts, but I also would be very into art of Peggy in the Chair.

The Old Guard
Characters:
Lykon
Andy
Quynh

Backstory, please, during any period of history that you happen to like or know about or want to draw outfits from.

Quynh: I love the contrast between Quynh giving up and trying to die in the desert when Andy found her, and, much later, Quynh still fighting five hundred years after drowning during the movie. I love the idea that she and Andromache had comparable lengths of time alone before they actually met each other, and that she is possibly Andromache's only true peer. I love that one of the character notes we get from her is "I've never been burned alive before, what do you think it's like?" and would like to see her being similarly curious in less horrible circumstances. I want to know more.

Lykon: Basically all we know about Lykon in the movie is what he looks like, that he was around when Quynh was, and that he was kind of fatalist about dying. So please, fill it in, tell me about him and Quynh and Andy and how they related to each other, when it was just the three of them and after Joe and Nicky showed up, if you think he was around then.

In the comics there is very slightly more, but you are free to take or leave that as you want. Short version of what I know about his cultural context: an African with a Greek name would be totally normal in the Eastern Mediterranean anytime after 300 BCE, and possible well before that; or of course he could have come from sub-Saharan Africa and then changed his name like Andy did.

He's about as baby-faced as Nile, and I wonder if Andromache noticed that when she showed up. Basically there are thousands of years of potential angst here.

Which is why I'm not sure I can do a character section for Andy. Yay Andy, yay history, yay thousands of years of adventures and angst. Just include Andy and I will be happy about it.

There are TOG-specific historical resources available here. My own meta on Andromache, if you want to use it for prompts, can be found here.

Original Works
Characters are in groupings that seem logical to me.

Glamorous wartime singer turned detective (Original Work)
Golden age of mysteries female writer (Original Work)
1940s women’s boardinghouse dweller (Original Work)

I love murder mysteries, that's all I have to say. You absolutely don't have to write femslash here, but it is a possibility I am entirely up for and down with.

If you want to write the wartime singer on her own, I have no preference as to what war we're talking about.

Destitute Werewolf Elf (Original Work)
Give me all the D&D/Sword and Sorcery/Urban Fantasy cliches slamming into each other as hard as possible. How does the werewolf elf interact with the wider elf community? With the wider werewolf community, if any? With the rest of society? Have they been cut off from the rest of the elves because of the werewolf thing?

Superhero's Ghost (Original Work)
A lot of what I want here is to see how this interacts with the revolving door of death in most superhero universes. Does the ghost observe everyone else and give up and shout "That's not how you do it!" and start trying to get back to life so they can do whatever-it-is right? Do characters have memories of their ghost-period once they've come back to life?

Student Of The Arcane Arts Who Accidentally Lost Her Humanity While Seeking Forbidden Knowledge (OW)
Lawyer who has lost faith in humanity (Original Work)

I saw both of these tags and really wanted to see them in combination, either as a ship or a friendship or possibly as antagonists.

If you'd prefer to write one of them separately:

Student: I have this Classics degree I'm not doing anything with and would love to see academia's involvement in the student's loss of humanity, either facilitating it or trying to stop it or not noticing it at all or entirely-accidentally contributing to it.

Lawyer: For the lawyer on their own I would still prefer a level of ... realization of the metaphor of losing one's faith in humanity. What exactly have they lost faith in? How is this evident to them or others?

Battle of the Bands
This is just a list of songs/music videos from the tagset I like; I make no promises about them being easy to accommodate with any of the above prompts.
