Hi! Thank you so much for offering one of my fandoms, and for your fic!

I requested Goblin Market, The Great God Pan, Tam Lin, The Great Mouse Detective, and The Road to El Dorado.

A random list of things I like in general: worldbuilding, adventure, lesbians, alternate universes, ethical dilemmas, people being awesome, twisty plots, gender, epistolary fic, backstory, hurt/comfort, architecture, physical affection, queerness, poetry, philosophy, romance, feminism, mythological allusions, polyamory, hidden worlds, banter, complicated plans, beautiful landscapes, angst, puns, magical realism, history, creepy supernatural beings, passionate platonic friendships, case fic, gen, smut, diversity, fairy tales... Feel free to use some, all, or any of these.

Dislikes: I’m not much for kidfic, and I have a major embarrassment squick. Other than that – well, I don’t want very detailed descriptions of gore or torture, but a couple of these fandoms will let you go very dark places, and I wouldn't have requested them if I wasn't aware of that.

On the other hand, that depends pretty heavily on which fandom we were matched on. I will be totally happy with a fluffy story about mice solving crimes together. I will also be totally happy with a dark story about a supernatural force of nature ruining all the men who come near her. But maybe not vice-versa.

Fandom specific thoughts and optional details, to be taken more as suggestions and jumping-off points than requests:

Goblin Market
(on wikisource)

In the world of the poem: Tell me more about Jeanie, or what was happening in Laura's brain while she was wasting away. Or where are the goblins from, why are they here, and does any of this have to do with what happens to people who eat their fruit? I picture them as being from somewhere like the traditional British fairyland, where anything you do can sign you up for a contract you didn’t intend and eating the fruit will prevent you from ever being happy anywhere else and everyone is simultaneously lying and telling the exact precise truth. But this is just me spinning possibilities.

Out of the world of the poem: all the alternate universes, any alternate universe, especially racebends, explicitly queer retellings, genderswap, retellings set firmly in a specific historic moment – yes, please.

The Great God Pan
(on wikisource)

Helen, tell me all about Helen. I want to know what drives her and what she sees and whether the entire inside of her head looks like forests and orgies and sparagmos. I want to know how she grew up and how she left and how little she cares about the society that would expect her to stay in one role. Tell me about being a force of nature, and also being human, and how much of each she is. Twist her up in all the horrific parts of Greek mythology.

Tam Lin – Pamela Dean

Backstory! Thomas at Blackstock trying to find a way to stay away from Medeous while still doing something he loves. I want to know about all the other majors he had, and why he left them. I want to know about him being young and idealistic, or older and trapped, or rebellious, or his PoV of key parts of the book. Or meeting new people and slowly realizing that they are older and stranger than he ever thought they were. Or more about Blackstock, and the other universe pushing through at the edges, and maybe worldbuilding. (I like all the characters in this book, I just feel like some Thomas focus this year.)

The Great Mouse Detective

Mice and mysteries and keeping just out of sight beneath the larger human infrastructure. Basil learning things from Holmes and adjusting them to work for the world he knows. Basil and Dawson having adventures and solving cases and living right below their human counterparts and loving and comforting each other. You may notice that I am a little obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, and it is not hard to make me happy here.

...in this fandom specifically, I would prefer that any slash was not explicit.

The Road to El Dorado

Adventure threesome! I ship it, I ship it so much. All three of them learning to fit their relationships around each other and their lives and different philosophies and cultures, or ending up in the middle of another situation they were trying to avoid, or having a perfectly logical plan that goes right to hell. Banter and con games and daring escapes. Or, you know, making out, that’s good too.

Or if you don't ship the three of them, just tell me alllll about Chel, backstory and why she was running away or her PoV or what she does after, preferably but not necessarily while dragging those two madmen along with her, and I will be ecstatic. Chel is great, Chel is important, lots of Chel.

Have fun! Thank you so much!
