- Okay, that scene, and then that one, and then if that happens I need that to happen over here, and then that happens near the end, and… (>50% of the actual writing occurs here.)
- Dammit, how do plots work?
- Wait, shouldn’t I work on [older idea]? *opens file* *changes three words*
- Ooh, shiny new idea!
- [Repeat steps 2-5 at least twice]
- Right, okay, I am going to work on [original idea] today.
- *changes three words then wanders off to look at something else*
- [Repeat steps 7-8 at least twice]
- Right, okay, I am actually going to work on [original idea] today.
- Hey, wait, I’m closer to being finished this than I thought.
- (Two hours later) ...but I still have to write that damn transitional scene, dammit.
- Maybe if I leave it for a bit it’ll
write itselfcome to me. - [Optional: repeat steps 1-6]
- Ugghhhhhhh.
- Okay, that’s a draft. And it is the worst and I hate it.
- *leaves it alone for a week*
- Okay, this is not the worst and I can edit it.
- Hey, this needs less editing than I thought.
- Okay, I think this is done.
- Fuck, now I need to think of a title.
